About
Since 2005, I have made Los Angeles, California my home, but 23 years before that, I was born in Seoul, South Korea. When I was about 2 years old, my family decided to immigrate to Honolulu, Hawaii, where I lived until I graduated from high school. This is important for me to convey because my background and upbringing is an integral part of my identity. I have navigated the world of multiple cultures, and I acknowledge both the challenges and privileges of my intersectional identity. My experiences, of course, are not your experiences, but I hope that our work together will demonstrate my sincere efforts to recognize, comprehend, and appreciate your perspectives.
You may also have noticed that my therapy services began four decades after my birth. Before I committed to this route, I worked in the market research industry, primarily with entertainment-based properties. My past career was largely due to the fact that I am a technology, movies, and video games nerd who enjoys working with numbers. While my former profession may not seem directly applicable to my current one, I hope it illustrates the varied experiences that we all bring to the table, and that is something I deeply consider when communicating with anyone.
